REVIEWS
We play all kinds of venues, great and small: from concerts in big halls to cosy village pubs, also taking in festivals, functions, charity gigs, and anything else that takes our fancy. We're fortunate that a lot of people along the way have said nice things about us when we've played. Here's a selection of comments and reviews from the last few years.

"Jacksboro Highway are the kind of blues band who are never going to be a big name or a cult, and they’re never going to headline a major blues festival, but what they are in spades is a rock-solid grass roots outfit who’ll give you a cracking evening’s entertainment and leave you cheering for more at the end. This is classy, no nonsense, quality acoustic blues, played with flair and passion, and with a transparent love of the music. The UK blues scene would be lost without working bands of this calibre, so good on ‘em. They’re based in the East Midlands, so if you live round those parts check them out if they’re playing your town. You won’t be disappointed.” (Al Tait, Blues Matters journalist)
“Jacksboro have been virtually our house band in recent years. They’re excellent, dependable musicians, and I can always rely on them to help me out if another act lets me down… to be quite honest they’re just as good if not better than some of the bands we book who have a bigger name. People love them – and they’re cheap! I’d be lost without them.” (Ian Joule, Joules Yard, Market Harborough)
"These popular veterans of the East Midlands blues scene are terrific musicians, always great value and much in demand. Equally at home on the concert stage or in the back room of a pub, they are probably the finest acoustic blues and covers band in the region. Whether headlining their own shows or supporting legendary acts such as The Zombies, they never fail to go down a storm. Don’t miss them!" (Kontra Roots Promotions, Northants)
“Thank you so much for playing at my husband’s surprise 60th birthday party. He loves the blues and thought you were fantastic, but you played a lot of other kinds of songs as well so everyone liked you. Perfect. Even the teenagers thought you were great! You made our day.” (Audrey Collins, private party organiser)

“Very enjoyable.” (Dick Taylor, The Pretty Things)
"What a band!" (Paul Lamb)
“We came here to see The Zombies, but we’re big blues fans so were well pleased when we found out the support was a blues band. You were a knockout and it was a shame you only played for 40 minutes – I could have listened to a lot more. My mate thought you were better than The Zombies, but he’s an idiot!” (audience member, Huntington Hall, Worcester)
“That was a great set!” (Rod Argent, The Zombies)
“A highlight of the afternoon [at the Lynton & Lynmouth Blues Festival] was Jacksboro Highway, an acoustic blues trio from Northampton, who played classic blues and got an enthusiastic reception from the audience." (The Lynton Advertiser, Devon)
“Excellent music. That was ideal, just what we wanted. Everyone really enjoyed it.” (Poppies Beer Festival, Kettering)
“I’ve always wanted live music at my summer parties, but didn’t really know how to go about it, so I’d really like to thank you for making it all so easy and straightforward. I must say I didn’t really know what to expect from a blues band – I don’t know much about blues – but you played rock ‘n’ roll and a lot of songs that people knew, and we all loved it. People were even dancing, which was a first. Much better than a disco.” (Barbara Fitton, function organiser)
